Phoenix-based MiniCo Insurance Agency LLC announced that it has signed an agreement with Aspen American Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., to be an additional carrier for MiniCo’s specialty insurance programs for the self-storage industry. Aspen American Insurance Co. began underwriting coverage July 1, 2011, in several states with plans to roll out additional states throughout the remainder of 2011.
Jim Henry, chief underwriting officer, said, “MiniCo continues to support the independent agency network and looks forward to helping agencies grow their self storage book of business with both of our carrier partners. We will be contacting our agents with specific state information regarding availability upon approval by the various states.”
Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. and its operating subsidiaries have been assigned a rating of “A” (Excellent) by A.M. Best and “A2” (Good) by Moody’s Investors Service.
