WIAA Insurance Services has added Unitrin Specialty to its roster of carriers. This provides the wholesale agency’s subproducers a new market for nonstandard auto in California.
This is a direct appointment. Unitrin is one of the largest nonstandard auto insurers.
The initial plan is for WIAA to focus on personal lines, but the company plans to offer coverage for commercial vehicles in January 2012.
This move fits into WIAA’s overall strategy of providing a broad mix of markets for their subproducers. The company also provides coverage for homeowners, umbrella, workers’ compensation and agent’s errors & omissions.
WIAA is the general agency arm of the Western insurance Agents Association. The Rancho Cordova, Calif.-based wholesaler also provides coverage in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.
