The Climate Corp. Expands Operations in Washington

The Climate Corp. announced the official opening of its newest office, this one in Seattle, Wash.

The Climate Corp. combines data climatology and agronomy to protect the $3 trillion global agriculture industry with automated weather insurance products.

The Seattle location was chosen because of its business-friendly environment as well as for the local work force, according to the company.

“Our Seattle office plays a critical role in our aggressive growth strategy,” David Friedberg, CEO of the Climate Corp. said in a statement.

The Climate Corp. is currently hiring for numerous roles in Seattle including data engineer, back-end software engineer, rails software engineer and other openings.

The Climate Corp. uses Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR), an Internet service that enables the company to process vast amounts of data. The firm’s technology platform ingests weather measurements from 2.5 million locations and forecasts from major climate models on a daily basis.

The Climate Corp.’s products pay out automatically based on measured weather conditions.
