Well, if the “industry” gave hime a ‘D’, then he has a least a ‘B’ rating for consumers. Too bad for consumers he did not get an industry rating ‘F’, but he is new, give him time.

Any state that has an “ELECTED” Insurance Commissioner almost always has a situation wherein such person basically hates the insurance industry. Continued fallout from Prop. 103 in 1988. How else can they get reelected or get a higher position within the state or federal government? The people shouldn’t elect Insurance Commissioners–they should be appointed by the Governor of their state, with the approval of the state assembly or legislature. I see that Jones has a law degree, which is another problem. How about someone that has plain old common sense and wants to try and strike an equal deal for all parties? This would be different. WAKE UP WORLD!!

from personal monitoring of local criminal’s case. They finaly made a case. As for the punishment?? The DOI’s inability to properly take corrective action and deal out the approiate punishment… there is no wonder why this is the result. Slap on the hand after ripping people off, responsible for accidents without insurance ect. We need those responsible of in proper conduct properly punished. The failure of the system starts with you! I wonder how many other are out there not being punished properly.

Las Vegas would not improve with an elected commissioner.

The problem in Las Vegas is urban planning and the legal system. An unwise elected official would probably create availability issues.

My guess is that an elected official would eliminate credit scoring and raise rates significantly for customers who pay their bills.
