Hi this is Eric from LoJack Corporation, the premier worldwide provider of vehicle tracking and recovery systems. While the NICB’s recently published report concerning the overall decline in vehicle theft is good news, LoJack cautions consumers that the percentage of vehicles stolen and not recovered continues to drop and is at it’s lowest in more than 25 years! In fact, 43.9% of vehicles stolen in 2010 were never recovered and 24 of the top 50 areas in the United States with the highest vehicle theft rates have seen year-over-year increases in vehicle theft. LoJack continues to maintain a better than 90% recovery rate for cars, SUV’s, and light trucks that are equipped with a LoJack system and are reported stolen. And during the summer months when auto theft rates are at their highest, taking steps in vehicle theft protection couldn’t be more important!
