While we don’t know how much jail time, or rehab time this guy has been involved in, but it’s not enough. Typical of our judicial trend toward being PC and understanding criminals bad backgrounds and etc., they have done nothing in this long case history but reward the irresponsible. This man should have been in jail for 9 years, years ago. Wait until he kills, or hurts somebody and watch the judges flee for the hills.
I love the people that come out of the woodwork and claim that individuals driving with a broken tail light and subsequently arrested for DUI are about to kill someone. This guy is a professional alcoholic and .20 and above is normal for him to function on a daily basis He needs therapy.
What about the guy who is .07 with a broken tail light? About to kill someone? I doubt it. FACT: There are less than 2400 DRIVERS in the US every year that are over .08 and are involved in a multi-vehicle crash where at least one fatal occurred. That’s around 5% of all drivers. So what about the 95% of SOBER and INATTENTIVEs that kill? Debunk the crap that is fed to you by the NHTSA. It’s available in the FARS database plain and clear if you take the time to analyze FACTS. DUI is MADD and law enforcements little 20b+ annual piggy bank/economy used to fleece money from people under the guise of safety.
Although I agree with the otherside that one death from DUI is to many, the pendulaum needs to swing back to reasonable again. The law for the first time offender is to severe and the sentance for the 3 time and greater is just to darn weak. Anyone can make a mistake but to lock them up like the do in AZ is just to severe.
I hope by swing back you mean forcing prosecutors to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you were impaired and about to kill someone and revisiting the one size fits all BAC of .08 and the little mahcines that take the readings are flawed ways of determining impairment. Let’s not forget the roadside tests that are flawed in identifying impairment.
Every next best thing the MADD mothers think up does more to expand their little economy and nothing to save lives. How about scaling back your and my 35m+ annual taxpayer donations by the federal gov’t to a group that has no clue what unreasonable search and seizure and due process mean.
MADD – nothing but professional victims looking to diminish freedoms afforded under the constitution.
Just playing the odds. In one post, it’s blows .07 with a broken tail light and the next post is prosecutors proving beyond a reasonable doubt that you were impared and about to kill someone. Seems really specific and personal. I could be wrong but, as I said, just playing the odds.
You just sounded a little sanctimonious about it. A DUI would suck, but there are only a few people that are above getting one. Especially in this business! Which reminds me. Isn’t it about happy hour now?

Wasn’t aiming at sanctimonious but I can see how it could come across that way. My mistake.
And it certainly is happy hour somewhere.
He’s giving the guy in North Dakota a run for it!
Aren’t ND and MT right next door to each other? Maybe those 2 are brothers. Or drinking pals.

Naaaaah… I thought it was funny!

Hey FARS, really sucks to have that DUI on your record, doesn’t it. Next time, don’t drive after drinking and you won’t have this problem again.
You’re quite presumptuous, aren’t you?
