Granted, the loss of life of a loved one is a terrible thing. The amount of the verdict will ensure an appeal which will likely be overturned as excessive. “Bed sores contributed to her death.” It is unlikely that it “caused” the death of an 82 year old person with Alzheimers. It is ridiculous verdicts such as this that “contribute” to the cost of nursing home and assisted living to patients, their families and the Medicaid program in the US!!! The big winners in this case will be the lawyers!
