The mother of a young Oregon girl who died after choking on a meatball at her preschool is seeking $7.6 million in a lawsuit against the suburban Portland school and its owner.
The Oregonian reported that the lawsuit filed Monday in Circuit Court alleges that Growing with Pride Preschool and Child Care and its owner, Lorinda Rule, were negligent in the January death of Zoey Frontella.
The complaint says the 3 1/2-year-old girl choked while eating lunch and died from respiratory and cardiac arrest the next day.
Anne Frontella accuses the defendants of failing to provide adequate observation during lunch, failing to prepare food items safe for the girl’s age and failing to perform “any or adequate” measures to revive her.
The Tualatin school did not immediately return a call for comment Tuesday night.
