If a dentist is authorized to prescribe medication to help a nicotine habit, it makes sense. Also, it’s the cessation of using Chantix that has been associated with depression and suicidal thoughts, not it’s use. A very tragic sitution for the wife and mother.
She should get nothing out of this as I’m sure it says right on the prescription paperwork what the side affects are. If they don’t like the side affects, then don’t take the medicine. The only one I can possibly see any liability is the hospital for releasing him, but not the dentist.
Has anybody ever considered that these folks are cranky, moody and depressed as a result of the cessation of nicotine, rather than an assit drug??
I would bet the genetic propensity for depression & addiction are somehow related.
What was a dentist doing prescribing Chantix?????? Seems out of the scope of his practice to me.
