The Nevada Division of Insurance recovered more than $3.9 million from insurance companies for Nevada Consumers in 2013, according to the division.
A recovery is the amount of monetary compensation or relief received by a consumer as a result of a filed consumer complaint against an insurance company.
“I’m proud of the great work our Consumer Services and Enforcement section have done,” Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper said in a statement. “Their hard work and dedication has ensured that thousands of Nevadans get the insurance benefits they’ve paid for. If you’ve got questions or concerns about insurance in Nevada, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. ”
Nevada’s insurance division is part of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, which protects consumers and regulates Nevada’s $11.7 billion insurance industry.
