A federal investigation is underway into an accident that killed an employee at the MGM Grand hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
KLAS-TV reports the employee was unable to get out of the way of a moving maintenance cart on Tuesday afternoon and was pushed out a third-floor window, falling to his death.
The accident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
MGM spokesman Gordon Absher, in a statement, confirms the employee died after a fall from the third floor of the resort’s conference center but did not elaborate.
He says the accident represented a “devastating loss” and the resort is cooperating with authorities.
The victim’s name was not immediately released.
