Fresno, Calif.’s fire chief says investigators believe serial arsonists are behind a series of blazes across the city over the past month.
Chief Kerri Donis said Tuesday that fire and police investigators are studying 21 fires that have occurred since May.
She says it appears there may several arsonists in three or four different areas.
The Fresno Bee reported that Fulton Mall in downtown Fresno was the scene of two fires on the night of June 2 and the early morning of June 3. The newspaper says after one of the fires, crews found evidence that a gas line that was severed from its connectors and left in the “on” position.
