While in between passengers, that Uber driver killed a pedestrian. Uber claims he did not have the “app on” or a passenger in the vehicle so minimum limits applies.
Well, he was looking for another pickup and did not see the pedestrian.
Therefore, just like a Taxi driver, he should have 1 million limits and commercial auto coverage or stay out of the transportation for hire business.
CA DOI should not waste valuable time on making something that already exists.
