California Man Sues Nintendo Over Donkey Kong Suit Zoo Outing

A man who says he suffered a serious heart condition after wearing a Donkey Kong ape costume at the Los Angeles Zoo has sued Nintendo.

Parker Mills’ attorney, Tyler Barnett, says Mills was hired to play the ape character in May for the launch of a Nintendo 3DS game.

Mills claims he was denied breaks while talking to zoo guests and didn’t get a required ice pack to cool him.

nintendo-3dHis lawsuit says a company ambassador hired to escort Mills didn’t provide proper oversight. The suit was filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

His attorneys say Mills suffered a tearing of his aortic walls and now has a permanent heart defibrillator.

A call seeking comment from Nintendo representatives wasn’t immediately returned.
