Must not have read the article, Farmers is expanding its support and claims staff. And, I am a Farmers agent and I am not slimy as you say. As Hmmmm says below and I agree, every company has good and bad agents. Those people would be good or bad DESPITE their occupation.
Too bad you had a bad experience, I have experienced some really good Farmers Agents and some not so good — but I have also experienced some really good American Family, State Farm, etc agents and some that have been not so good. There are EXCELLENT Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers out there and some that need more training.
Welcome to Arizona…………another group of people who are tested to be salesmen, have little product knowledge, and tell homeowners they can buy $400,000 on their house but don’t worry if it burns down the company has to pay replacement cost, when it should have been insured for $700,000.
We’ve seen this for 40 years. Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, American Family, test their sales aptitude but have little knowledge and lots of priced based selling by cutting out coverage either by design or by error.
Caliper Sales Testing for people who have few if any anal skills, but are great back slappers.
No class agents and half of the agencies are for sale.
If being a Farmers Agent is such a good deal, why don’t the other agents who aren’t for sale buy the agencies that are for sale? Just a thought………………………….
Farmers would rather have a newly appointed agent by an agency. It brings new agent blood into the system and they are typically going to work that book for cross-sell harder than an existing agent who just wants the renewal commissions. I imagine this is true of any company not just Farmers.
This company is the biggest joke EVER! I actually drank the kool-aid for 35 years before going IA 3 yrs ago. MOST of their agents SUCK!! Their products SUCK! Their agency Dashboard SUCKS BIG TIME! And, most of all, their prices SUCK! No matter what they say, you DO NOT own your policies. And, if you’re under the new contract, they WILL NOT buy your book after you leave!! Sooooooooooooooooo glad I had the @$#%@ to leave this TERRIBLE company. Good luck Phoenix, cause you’ll need it!
I would have to agree with Rich Seymour – Ziiqui seems to have a few rough edges when it comes to being professional. And, 35 years seems like a long time to hang in there with a company – must have had some redeeming qualities. One of the first things I learned when I started taking business and life skills classes many years ago – NEVER bad-mouth a prior employer, regardless of how bad things may have been.

May I say that if this is how you conduct yourself as a professional then whose loss was it?
