Barbara Richardson has been appointed as commissioner of the Nevada Division of Insurance. Richardson will join the Division in March.
The appointment comes after a long nationwide recruitment to fill the vacancy after the resignation of Scott Kipper in July 2015. Amy Parks, who served as acting commissioner during the interim, will resume her duties as the chief insurance counsel at the division.
Richardson has served as the director of operations and fraud for the New Hampshire Insurance Department for the past 11 years where she managed multiple units. In that capacity, she served as a state representative at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and was active on a number of working groups and task forces.
Previously, she was an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire School of Law and Franklin Pierce College. Prior to that she worked as a private practice attorney.
