Good luck California getting State Farm to comply or issue refunds. It took about 10 years in Texas and they delayed, defied and screamed until they finally had to pay.

That’s called due process, something constitutionally mandated. They paid interest on that money.

I have two words to describe how this can be fixed…Free Market.

There is nothing stopping any of State Farm’s insured’s from seeking coverage from another carrier. Competition will bring down rates quicker than anything.

If SF can’t make money, in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, they should pack their bags and leave.

This group represents themselves as a “consumer” group, but they really do this to collect a bill of $300 to $600 per hour for themselves and consulting partners. They publicize headlines like this to justify their existence and huge windfall. A review from the Department of Insurance should suffice in this case. I think if the public knew about this legalized extortion and the amounts these people make from the process, they would stop the intervener process. Ultimately, the consumer pays higher rates to accommodate these high fees and extra expenses incurred with the legal process.
