Two years ago we had 125,000 homes flood in Louisiana, not to mention the recent Houston floods. This fire(s) affected 1,500 homes, while tragic, doesn’t sound like much in the scheme of things.
You need to consider the perspective of Hollyweird elites. Their wineries are now fewer in number and many bottles of aged wine are gone. What will they drink while attending/ viewing the dozens of awards shows they create each year to reward themselves?
About 25 years ago I read an article on the “Top 20 Occupations” for the future. The article was written from the perspective of jobs or occupations that would provide stable, long term careers and not necessarily the highest paying. The obvious careers on the list were computer/tech related jobs and skilled nursing. Claims adjuster was on the list as well. At the time I didn’t think much about it but how true this has become.
The fires are far from finished. Also consider:
1) 172,000 structures are still at risk,
2) the typical NorCal structure’s replacement value is significantly higher than LA, Houston,
3) fire damage is more absolute with zero salvage value.
