It’s no wonder those Calibfornia lawmakers may want to limit liability of makers of automated ‘demolition derby’ driver-less, wit-less cars.

Especially important for proponents of automated cars to read and understand are three details: 1. that complete, proper auto maintenance is a requirement for the owner, 2. the Consumer Watchdog groups objections and comments in its Oct 25 letter to the CA DMV, and 3. the comments by the Consumer Attorneys of Calibfornia lawyer, Jacqueline Serna.

If enacted, I suspect the Calibfornia legislature will soon thereafter enact bills imposing hyuuuuuge taxes on auto repair services, both parts and labor. Calibfornians love to drive, so the legislators have an inelastic demand for transportation which they can ‘easily’ tap into for more tax revenues …. to spend on their constituents to guarantee more votes and more power. Determination of motivation is accomplished. QED.
