As one who uses Uber often, I have talked to driver who just want to drive and are fine with what they work with. They are happy with their pay and conditions. So when the term “drivers” is used, this is either some drivers, perhaps the more disgruntled drivers.

Agency, I would guess that the complainers are the drivers who do Uber and/or Lyft full time as their job, as opposed to those who drive a couple of hours to pick up some extra cash. As a full-time driver, your tendency is to look at what other full time workers are earning and what benefits they are receiving, and wanting those.

Jack, I don’t know, I doubt all full time drivers feel that way. Keep in mind, nobody is putting a gun to their head asking them to do this, these jobs were not around 5 years ago and wouldn’t be around today if these services did not start up. Right now, we are almost at full employment, so there are plenty of hiring going on and companies are screaming for workers. So again, they want to do Uber, they like the flexibility, they like the pay and when you have such flexibility, it’s not an employment position with benefits. So either work or don’t work, that is the options and holding companies hostage because someone wants to circumvent the marketplace is not cool, it’s extortion.

Agree with you Agency. These people knew what they were signing up for when they asked to work with Uber. Go find a full time job if that’s what you need to do.
