Good, now the autonomous vehicles can run down pedestrians on the sidewalks. What a great idea.

They max out at a speed of 15mph and are able to “detect” pedestrians so hopefully that is 100% accurate. What do you think is another reason why autonomous vehicles would be such a bad idea?
To me, they are another means of micro transportation much like the bikes and scooters found in cities. Those companies have had issues with accidents and injuries, but overall, they seem to benefit the majority of users. Autonomous vehicles may even decrease the possibility of human error more than the scooters would, but that would probably only be true if that city went fully autonomous. However, It does seem as though they are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the rider’s and pedestrian’s safety is their #1 priority (finally).
