Reverse the situation: imagine the black person involved first put up a Black Lives Matter flag and the other person objected. Then the black person starts giving lip to the person objecting.
Think the black person gets fired? No way, no how.
The point you miss is that the employee, despite the opportunity to post a flag that may incite a hostile workplace environment, did not. The assumption of whether the employee would have been terminated is an unsupported opinion.
Neither party should have been allowed fly their flags at work. Politic on your own time.
