Wawanesa General Insurance has secured an eight-year lease on a new San Diego home office at 7650 Mission Valley Road.
The 73,970-square-foot building is one-and-a-half miles from the company’s current location on Friars Road, which Wawanesa has been in the process of selling. The company has operated there for nearly 30 years.
The new facility accommodates the organizations’ nearly 800 employees, along with a limited number of tenants. The company anticipates moving into the space in fall 2020.
Wawanesa General Insurance has been providing policies in California since 1975, and currently offers auto and property insurance in California and Oregon.
The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Co. is a large Canadian property/casualty mutual insurer.
