from the Babylon Bee: “State with no electricity mandates everyone buy an electric car”.

The best part of all the posing by California Dems. is that California already buys about 25% of it’s electricity out of state, usually from fossil fuel sources, since California shut down in-state oil and natural gas production, hasn’t built a new dam for hydro power in decades, and is shutting down nuclear power now too.

So all those electric cars will be run on . . . fossil fuel energy from out of state? Genius!

California’s total contribution to global greenhouse gas production: 1%.

Newsom is totally knee jerk with emphasis on the latter. I’m betting that by 2030 most if not all of the vehicles on the road will be straight electric, but that doesn’t excuse Newsom as he is really earning his Gov Gruesome nickname with his grandstanding:
Doh, how much more strain will electric fueling put on the grid?
Doh, how much more oil will be required by electric utilities?
Doh, and, oh yeah, for hydrogen fuel cells, I don’t think that I’ve ever heard of an environmental study about their emissions will alter the air that we have to breathe.

Its going to take a Republican administration to sort out the incredibly stupid and irresponsible mistakes made by the Democrats in their alternative unicorns & rainbows reality.

    It will make no difference:
Pollution controls were first added to vehicles back in the 1960s, when the average car created 2,000 pounds of smog forming emissions in its 100,000-mile lifespan. Following guidance from the Clean Air Act and the California Air Resources Board, manufacturers sold Low Emissions Vehicles in the late ’90s producing emissions of just 50 pounds per 100,000 miles. That was great progress, but SULEV (or Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle) is the goal now, with an engine producing just a pound of emissions every 100,000 miles.

It is a moonshot order and likely will fail, but it is attempting to address a significant issue. Growing up in CA back in the 70’s, recesses were cancelled and helicopters would fly around announcing stage 3 smog alerts; playing outside resulted in an aching chest and coughs the next day. While the state has vastly improved, continued improvement should not be ignored.

I lived that life too. But these are two different issues.

Newsom is a “jack ass” without pedigree and should spend his pathetic energy on the California Fires issues and how to prevent them, the growing homeless situation and other critical needs. Mike
