Well I guess the state wants to turn Uber & Lyft into a Taxi company.

What a pity to upset the apple cart!
Uber started a good thing for driver/owners followed by Lyft.
Can’t things be left well-enough alone?
    Cheers

It’s a “good thing” in few ways, that is far outweighed by the bad. They were utilizing an illegal loophole to avoid paying taxes and properly compensating their employees. How is that well enough? If you want to run a business in the US, you pay taxes, it’s quite simple.

Sounds so wonderful, making everything about taking more money from people.

But surveys in CA show 4 out of 5 drivers do not want to be employees. Prop. 22, which will kill AB5 that made Gig workers employees, is way ahead in the polls out here in Deep Blue Calif.

Seems even liberals realize that sometimes giving people the freedom to do what they want is more important than sucking more money out of them.
