The Wyoming Department of Insurance is now enabling candidates for insurance licensure to schedule exams online through testing vendor Pearson VUE and their OnVUE online proctoring service.
Online testing will begin on March 2.
“The weather and long distances in our state can, at times, make it difficult for some Wyomingites to travel to exam centers,” Licensing Supervisor Bryan Stevens said in a statement. “With online proctoring, candidates will no longer need to leave their homes to take their exam. Our goal was to make taking exams for residents in Greybull and Lander as convenient as it is for residents in Laramie and Casper.”
OnVUE online proctoring from Pearson VUE allows candidates to take licensing exams from home. Candidates provide their own computer and a private room to take the exam. OnVUE leverages artificial intelligence coupled with live proctoring through the webcam and microphone.
“This is a permanent change to our licensing exam availability,” Stevens said. “With the proliferation of the needed technology and the wide-open spaces of Wyoming, we feel that remote proctoring is a solution that perfectly meets the needs of our residents.”
