Thank you for sharing your experience and insights about windshield cracks and replacements. It’s unfortunate that manufacturing defects often lead to edge cracks, resulting in significant windshield replacement claims. However, there are alternative solutions available, such as visiting achickandawindshield.com, where advanced technology and expertise can help repair and prevent cracks. These options save both time and money, offering a more cost-effective alternative to complete windshield replacements. It’s essential for drivers to be aware of these solutions and advocate for fair practices in the insurance industry to drive safer vehicles and reduce unnecessary replacements.

There are some really interesting fact-findings here, some which make me cringe when I think about what it all means to the end-user, the customer paying for their windshield. Why the insurance industry hasn’t expanded their “Crack Repair Criteria” to twelve-inches leaves a clouded question mark above my head (actually, I think we can all figure that out). Thank you for extrapolating all this information. It’s been 15+ years since posted, but I believe it is still quite relevant to this day. I certainly appreciate the stats along with the references.

I love how nothing has changed, every crack I have ever had has been an edge crack. I had safelite come out today and they told me it was not under warranty as it was a rock chip. I assured them it, it was a defect. I love how they claim they have a lifetime warranty, but it excludes that obvious defect that they bet on for their exclusionary practice. I will be voting for Biden this year.
