Unitrin Specialty Paid 92% of Hurricane Claims!

Unitrin Specialty to date has paid or settled over 92% of our claims from the hurricanes that hit Louisiana.

How have we settled claims so quickly?
Within hours of the disaster, Unitrin Specialty created a claims catastrophe response team to focus solely on our Louisiana hurricane losses. Insureds affected by the hurricane were able to talk directly to an adjuster and many were able to settle their claim in one phone call.

On September 12, 2005 a catastrophe claims team was sent to the affected region to assist with our Agent Partners and insureds’ losses. The majority of our catastrophe team worked many long hours in the region through October 9, 2005. We currently have our 3 Houston appraisers assisting our New Orleans based appraiser to ensure we are settling claims as quickly as possible.
