Bethesda, MD, March 1, 2018—United Educators (UE), a reciprocal risk retention group that insures education, today launched an innovative internships and professional services liability (IPL) policy with broad coverage for most student internships and experiential learning programs.
This policy features a streamlined underwriting process to obtain appropriate coverage for situations in which students are developing skills or advancing their education through hands-on experience. It protects the educational institution, faculty supervisors, most employees who provide professional services in select occupations, volunteers, and students.
“The IPL policy provides expanded coverage without the administrative burden of responding to application questions, scheduling, or midterm reporting,” said Joe Carter, UE’s vice president of business development. “This convenient approach enables institutions to maintain broad, effective coverage as they add or change internship programs to meet their students’ needs.”
Nearly 1,600 schools, colleges, and universities rely on UE for liability insurance and risk management services. Visit UE.org to learn more.
