IICF Southeast Division event will help support more than 20 nonprofits

DALLAS (Feb. 1, 2021) –The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a unique nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities and enriching lives, will host its ninth annual Southeast Division Gala Celebration virtually this year on Feb. 25. Proceeds from this year’s event benefit IICF’s Southeast Community Grants Program, which provides grant funding to regional nonprofits focused on at-risk children, disaster relief and preparedness, education and veterans.

The event will be emceed by Kellie Rasberry, co-host of the YEA Networks’ nationally syndicated “The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.” Rasberry, along with IICF industry leaders, will provide guests with an overview of the charitable work and impact of the insurance industry in 2020. She’ll also share a glimpse at what is planned for 2021 to support citizens in need in throughout Texas and the Southeast region.

The night’s special guest will be Kirstie Ennis, founder of the Kirstie Ennis Foundation, which is dedicated to providing education opportunities and healing to underserved communities. After losing her left leg as a US Marine Sergeant after her helicopter went down in Afghanistan, Ennis is now conquering the Seven Summits, was the recipient of the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2019 ESPYs, and was inducted into the 2020 International Sports Hall of Fame.

“We are excited to celebrate the industry’s extraordinary efforts in giving during this unprecedented year, as well as the tireless efforts of our many nonprofit partners,” said Sarah Conway, IICF Southeast Division Executive Director. “2020 was beyond challenging for many in our community, and while we as an industry were able to provide significant support, much work still remains to help those in our community who are struggling. We can continue to provide our nonprofit partners with the resources they need by uniting as an industry and working together for a greater impact through IICF.”

Conway also noted how financial support of this event will directly benefit community members. “A $10,000 sponsorship or donation will provide 30,000 meals to those facing hunger, supply 100 at-risk children with new backpacks and school supplies and uniforms, send 8 special needs children to summer camp or grant a wish to a critically ill child.”

IICF’s Southeast Division will announce 21 nonprofit grantees in 2021, all working to better the lives of individuals and families in local communities. IICF granted $330,000 to Southeast nonprofit partners from funds raised at last year’s gala, and since its founding in 2012, IICF’s Southeast Division has granted more than $4.5 million to over 140 nonprofits in the region.
