As a resident of the city of Detroit and an individual that has has experenced the problems of insurance red-lining.

The State of MI has a problem that needs to be fixed, be it living within the city limit or suburbs, the fact remains that Southeast MI is automotive dependant.

No one can afford $3000.00 in auto insurance for 6 month coverage along with monthly auto payments. The big three needs to jump on-board in the battle to reform auto insurance reform in our state. The fact that other states has been successful in changing practice in the of favor of comsummers gives a clear picture of everything else in MI.

Insurers will not change using the false pretense claim that simply allows more money in their pockets. In Canada our neighbor there is capping limits government controls that help the comsumer. There is no such limits in MI, the auto industry can not survive without restrictions in favor of the consumer.

There is no reason what so ever to base an individuals auto premium based on a credit score. It is a vicious cycle that contributes to the those that can least afford it to fall out of coverage, pay the excessive state penality for lapse in coverage or carry no coverage at all.

The people that need help the most are not residents the residents of Bloomfiled Hills, they reside in the City of Detroit.

I have to move some 40 miles out of the City to be able to drive a car?
Circumstances arrise that people have no control over, medical bills, there has been notably a 20 % increase in those without medical insurance. The choice one needs to make is seek medical treatment, mount medical bills, or dare to ruin credit rating. According to latest bankrupacy filings, up some 30% from some ten years ago, the number one noted reason for due to illness. What’s more supprising yet is 1/3 had medical coverage, which is indeed my case as well.

Again, auto insurance reform is needed for equality offering a service, for those without tickets, accidents, theft.
I believe when indeed one’s driving allows warranted billing increase that insurance companies should charge.
However when a safe driver has done no wrong why should they pay?

    My opinion thank you,

    Support of auto insurance reform.

    Sincerely,

    Carolyn in Detroit
