Poor Dustin had no business being in close proximity to the goal if he wasn’t participating in the game. Plus, he must not have been paying attention if it fell on him.
good call is right. why can’t accidents happen and why can’t your health insurance cover the cost of the accident? true call, is that if he was a non-participant, why was he so close to the goal?
If the goal fell, he and his buddies were probably hanging from it.
I don’t like this ruling. What this means is the non-profits running youth sports may take the easy way out and not take the appropriate measures to protect the athletes. What if the goal crushed his back and he was paralyzed? What if he was raped by a coach. Both are avoidable if the proper risk management is in place.
Turbo, 99% of the people running soccer non-profit for kids are parents whose kids are playing..I seriously doubt we’d want to take the easy way out; I coach 3 of my kids aged 6-11, and we try to do everything possible to avoid any mishaps; biggest issue is getting kids to not hang on goals, they are kids, they do that. Remember us growing up?…The issue is accidents happen and you cannot prevent 100% of accidents from happening.Unrealistic,…Unfortunately we;ve become a society where someone is always to blame; so someone should pay. Prevention starts at the home, not on the soccer field.

Good decision!!…Whatever happened to the days where accidents happened?…Now SOMEONE has to always pay.
Mary it could have been a practice, and if he were playing goal, he would not see it.
