XL Insurance Company Limited (XLICL), a unit of Bermuda’s XL Capital Ltd., announced the appointment of Dr. Gernot Klantschnig as Country Manager for its German Branch, effective March 1, 2005.
“Dr. Klantschnig will be responsible for leading the continued growth and development of XL’s insurance business in Germany as one of the major providers of insurance solutions to German international and national corporations,” said the bulletin.
Clive Tobin, Chief Executive of XL’s Insurance Operations, commented: “Germany is a vital market for our insurance business. The appointment of Dr. Klantschnig underlines our commitment to both Germany and Continental Europe and our resolve to attract top insurance industry talent to XL. We are extremely pleased that someone with the experience of Dr. Klantschnig has agreed to join our organization.”
Dr. Klantschnig has over 20 years experience in the industrial insurance industry. He has spent the past 16 years working in the risk management segment at Allianz where he has served as a member of the management board since 1999.
