Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Johnny Chen, 45, as CEO of its recently established Greater China business effective March 1, 2005.
“In this newly created position, Johnny Chen will report to Martin South, CEO International Businesses Division, and be part of the International Businesses Leadership Team, said the bulletin. “He will be responsible for establishing and leading the Group’s renewed focus on the Greater China region, including its businesses in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the relationship with New China Life Insurance Company Ltd.”
South commented: “Johnny’s appointment is an important step in accelerating our growth strategy in Greater China, and I know that his experience in the region will be of great value to the Group.”
Chen joins Zurich from PricewaterhouseCoopers Greater China where he was the Managing Partner of the Beijing office and an executive member of the Management Board responsible for business strategy and revenue growth. He holds a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a U.S CPA license.
