Mark Lucas, Managing Director of U.S. RE ApS, announced that Ruslana Strunden, an actuary with extensive experience in non-life insurance and reinsurance, has joined the Company as a Vice-president, and that Henrik Skafte has been promoted to Vice-president.
U.S. RE ApS is the European subsidiary of U.S. RE Corporation, the international reinsurance brokerage firm.
Over the past few years, Strunden has held actuarial posts at Gothaer Re, Tillinghast-Towers Perrin, and Zurich Re in Cologne, Germany. Earlier, she was a staff member in the Community of the Independent States and the United Nations Development Program in her native Republic of Moldova. She has served as a member of the Actuarial Steering Committee of the European Alliance of Insurance and Financial Services.
Skafte joined U.S. RE ApS in 2005 as Assistant Vice President. He has worked as a reinsurance broker in the Scandinavian market and developed a specialty in life reinsurance. Prior to joining U.S. RE ApS, he was Administrator in charge of financial management in the Kampala, Uganda, office of the Danish Association for International Cooperation. Earlier, Skafte did stints at Nordea Life and Pension, the Danish Insurance Academy, Unibank, and Danica.
