Emerton and Fisher Join Allied World’s Expanded Casualty Team

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG announced that its Allied World Global Markets unit has expanded its casualty team with the appointments of James Emerton as Vice President and Martin Fisher as Assistant Vice President.

They will be based in Allied World’s London office and will be responsible for building out the UK/International Corporate business.

Sr. VP of General Casualty for Allied World Global Markets, Denis Burniston described the two men as “great additions to our current casualty team,” adding that they would “allow us to continue expanding in London and Europe more broadly. They both have extensive experience in the industry and a wealth of knowledge that will be valuable to our growth going forward.”

Emerton joins Allied World with significant experience in “developing and executing growth strategies for casualty portfolios. He was previously at Zurich where he spent nine years working as a senior underwriter within the Global Corporate Casualty and Product Recall teams with a focus on driving profitable growth while improving performance.

“He also has a deep understanding of Employers’ Liability, General Liability and managed a diverse portfolio, including both primary and excess business across a wide range of industry sectors.”

Fisher has 15 years of experience across many facets of casualty with experience as both a broker and an underwriter. “Most recently, he spent three years working as a senior casualty underwriter responsible for underwriting a large renewal portfolio comprised of domestic, multinational, multi‐line and captive insurance programs.”
