ANV Underwriters, the international managing general underwriter (MGU) segment of specialty insurance group ANV Holdings, announced the appointment of Florian Tischer to its Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Insurance team.
Tischer brings to ANV over five years’ legal experience, predominantly in the M&A, corporate and commercial fields, having held previous roles as a lawyer in international law firms including Field Fischer Waterhouse LLP and Weil, Gostshal & Manges LLP.
Based in ANV’s Barcelona office, Tischer will report to Thomas M. Mannsdorfer, underwriting director, M&A Insurance.
Commenting on the appointment, Mannsdorfer, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Florian. ANV has a strong and established presence in Europe, and this is an ideal time to build our business and client base. Florian’s expertise in the M&A and private equity sector as well as familiarity with the German-speaking market make him an excellent addition to the team.”
ANV’s M&A Insurance business, which is based in Barcelona and London, focuses on tailor-made warranties & indemnities insurance for commercial and financial clients across the European and UK markets.
Last month the business secured additional Lloyd’s-rated capacity to complement the line already provided by ANV Syndicate 1861, allowing ANV to offer an increased insurance protection for clients engaging in mid-sized and large transactions.
The increased line gives M&A Insurance products offered by ANV a limit of €25 million ($28.1 million), $25 million and £20 million ($30.6 million) per risk.
