Brown Named Marketform’s M&A Insurance Global Practice Leader

December 14, 2015

Specialist Lloyd’s underwriter Marketform announced the appointment of Robert Brown as the Global Practice Leader of its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Insurance operations.

He joins to lead the team of experienced M&A specialist underwriters and lawyers who are already in place. The team is able to underwrite a £50 million |$76 million] line available on a Lloyd’s market consortium basis.

The announcement noted that the “team has the capability to underwrite large and complex transactions, providing bespoke Warranty and Indemnity and M&A Tax insurance solutions, and based on their depth of experience in private practice and as underwriters, clients can expect to receive outstanding levels of service across multiple business sectors and territories.”

Martin Reith, who was appointed as Marketform’s CEO in November, described Brown as “one of the most highly regarded M&A underwriters operating in the market and we are delighted to have him lead the Global M&A team.”

The announcement also pointed out that Brown “has more than 20 years underwriting experience, most of which have been spent managing international M&A Insurance practices with Chubb and Ironshore, making him the longest serving M&A underwriter in the London market.

“This appointment complements last week’s announcement by Marketform’s parent, Great American Insurance Group, regarding the launch of a new Mergers and Acquisitions Liability Division, based in New York. The New York office will focus on offering coverage for U.S.-based corporate transactions, acquisitions or disposals.
