Everest Re Names Kneafsey as Active Underwriter of its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2786

Everest Re Group Ltd. announced that Paul Kneafsey will be joining the company as the active underwriter of its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2786. Kneafsey is expected to assume his new role effective May 1, 2016.

He will join Everest from ArgoGlobal where he was most recently head of Casualty and responsible for a global portfolio in excess of £100 million ($143 million) of premium. Kneafsey joined Argo in 2001 and served as active underwriter at Argo Syndicate 1200 from 2009 to 2013 before assuming the role of head of Casualty. He began his career at Amlin and has amassed more than 25 years of underwriting experience at Lloyd’s.

Daryl Bradley, executive vice president and head of International Insurance Operations, commented: “We are very excited to welcome Paul to Everest. Paul’s professional stature and proven track record at Lloyd’s will serve us well as we build out our Lloyd’s Syndicate platform. His casualty underwriting background fits very well with the focus of our syndicate. I look forward to his joining the Everest team.”
