Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced the acquisition of Equity Insurance Managers, Inc., Equity Insurance Administrators, Inc. and 21st Century Claims Service, Inc. all of Lexington, Kentucky.
Founded in 1967, Equity Insurance Managers, Inc. is a managing general agent and excess and surplus lines broker of specialty property and casualty insurance products written primarily in Kentucky and six other mid-central states. They represent many specialty insurance carriers and offer both commercial property/casualty and personal insurance products. More than 2,400 contracted independent agents place business through Equity Insurance Managers.
Equity Insurance Administrators was formed in 1997 to provide highly automated third party program administrative management and policy issuance, premium billing and related services to insurance companies and program managers.
21st Century Claims Service was established in 1996 and provides independent adjusting and third party claims administration services to insurance companies and program managers.
J. Robert Owens and his staff will continue to operate these companies from their present Lexington, Kentucky location under the direction of Joel D. Cavaness, President of Risk Placement Services, the wholesale insurance division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
