S.D. Insurance Alliance Announces Fall Education Clinic

The South Dakota Insurance Alliance‘s fall clinic, scheduled for Nov. 10, 2004, will feature a range of industry experts addressing a broad array of topics, including auto injury claims, workers’ compensation, and state and national politics.

Elizabeth Sprinkel, the senior vice president of the American Institute for CPCU, will give a talk on trends in auto injury insurance claims. Dennis Duncan, a lobbyist for SDIA, will follow with some predictions on the upcoming legislative session, while Insurance Director Gary Steuck will offer his take on the issues that may arise in 2005.

Larry Hochstetler, the state relations executive at the National Council on Compensation Insurance, will provide an update on workers’ compensation in South Dakota. Peter Young, a risk management professor at the University of St. Thomas, will discuss recent developments in global insurance markets.

Lastly, a panel of lobbyists from the national trade groups will discuss legislative issues at both the federal and state level, including the progress of national standards in Washington, D.C. Follow the above link for more information or to register.
