Ill. Mutual Hosts Disability Insurance Awareness Month in May

May 1, 2006

Peoria, Ill.-based Illinois Mutual, a provider of disability insurance, will hold its second annual Disability Insurance Awareness Month (DIAM) during May. DIAM is an event created by Illinois Mutual to help consumers and agents understand the importance of disability insurance.

“This event is a great way for Illinois Mutual to build industry-wide
awareness to consumers and agents about the importance of disability insurance. During DIAM our goal is to help agents educate consumers about disability insurance and help them understand that disability insurance is a way to safeguard their paycheck and prevent financial disasters,” said Mike McCord, chairman and president.

As part of this campaign, Illinois Mutual created a new educational
website http://www.DIAwareness.com — designed to give consumers valuable information about protecting their income and to highlight DIAM. Agents can use this website as a reference to help guide clients through making an informed decision about disability insurance. Within the website, consumers will find the answers to many questions they may have about disability insurance, including: who needs disability insurance; what is disability
insurance; where can I turn for my disability insurance needs; why do I need disability insurance and how do I get disability insurance?.”

To help agents promote DIAM, Illinois Mutual’s introduced a new
campaign theme designed around the thought provoking question, “What if your last payday was your last payday?” A wide variety of new DIAM marketing pieces were designed especially for agents to distribute to clients including postcards, new advertisements for local publications, web banners and a new and a direct mail piece which contains answers to frequently asked questions, a true story about a policyowner, and some alarming
statistics.
