Damage from a storm in Coleharbor, N.D. has been estimated at just under $2 million, state Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman says.

Officials believe straight-line winds of about 100 mph likely caused the damage on July 12, knocking out power and leveling buildings. Gov. John Hoeven declared a severe summer weather emergency for the city.

“I know many (insurance) companies have already written checks to residents … to get them back on their feet as quickly as possible,” Poolman said.
