The Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration announced recently that Fred Heese will serve as acting chief financial examiner for the Insurance Solvency & Company Regulation Division.
This announcement comes after Kirk Schmidt told department officials earlier this week that he will be leaving the division at the end of May to take the position of chief financial officer for Cornerstone Management Partners Inc.
“Kirk’s service to this department and the citizens of this state should be commended,” said Doug Ommen, director of the department. “His knowledge and insight will be missed, but I am grateful that Fred has agreed to serve during this transition.”
Heese previously oversaw financial examinations of insurance companies as audit manager. He is a certified public accountant and a certified financial examiner. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and sits on the board of governors for the Society of Financial Examiners.
