Shand Morahan & Co., Inc. and AVRECO recently announced a partnership in a new risk management program aimed at Midwest hospitals. The Heartland Healthcare Hospital Program (3HP) offers Midwest community hospitals with fewer than 150 beds comprehensive professional liability insurance that includes a risk management component.
Emmi was created by Emmi Solutions LLC, and provides access to web-based interactive programs that help hospitals reduce claims and promote patient safety.
Shand provides the new Heartland Healthcare Hospital program with claims-made insurance coverage with limits of $1million/$3 million per location, and a $5,000 minimum deductible. Companion coverage is also available, including staff physicians, errors and omissions and long-term care. In addition, Shand Morahan will contribute 2 percent to each participating hospital to offset the cost of the Emmi programs.
