Elizabeth R. Haar, president and CEO of Accident Fund Holdings Inc., was recently honored by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan with one of its annual Champions of Hope Awards.
In addition to Haar, the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan presented 2011 Champion of Hope Awards to Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, Representative Richard Hammell and Dave Campbell, business development manager for Rocky Mountain & Midwest Regions for Oracle, USA.
The Champion of Hope Award recognizes men and women whose outstanding contributions in the fields of health care and public policy provide eternal hope and healing to the citizens of Michigan.
Haar began her career in the insurance industry as an actuary at Michigan Millers Mutual and Citizens Insurance. She joined Accident Fund Insurance Company of America as the chief actuary. In 2005, Haar was named president and CEO of Accident Fund Insurance Company of America.
