More and More Americans are dying each year. This seems due to the increase in the overall population. As more Americans are born, the number of Americans dying increases! The CDC needs to look into this.
Wonder if there’s a mandatory helmet law in Wisconsin?
I think we’ll see more motorcyclists on the roads as gas prices continue to increase to absurd levels, meaning the fatality rate won’t get any better.
I would like to know if another vehicle was involved. I ride a motorcycle and most accidents seem to be by other vehicles not paying attention. Texting, talking on their cell phone, changing radio stations, ext. We would really need to have more statistics on these accidents and were they wearing helments and still died?
I agree, Kristy. I have a recurring nightmare about an elderly lady driving a silver Buick pulling away from a roadside yard sale. Talk about not paying attention!
The article says “the figures show the average age of the victims has increased to 48, from 30 two decades ago.”
In doing the math, it seems like it is the same “group” of people. People who were 30 two decades ago are now 50-ish. I don’t know if there is any direct correlation, but it seems too coincidental.
It could have something to do with a very warm and dry year which means there are more cyclists on the road…
