This sounds very Chicago like. Can anyone tell me how someone convicted in 2013 and sentenced to 75 years was out on the streets? How incompetent can they be?

I don’t necessarily think this is a ‘Chicago’ thing.

The article said that he had already been jailed for 30 years, and had been released to a halfway house, “despite the opposition of prosecutors.” The halfway house took 12 days to notify the police that he’d gone missing. This is on the halfway house, not the city of Chicago.

You need to read for comprehension. He spent 30 years in jail for his first offenses; was released; raped three women; was sentenced to 75 years in 2013. He has been in jail since second conviction in 2013 (for 75 years).

Let me get this straight. The serial rapist is let out of jail after 30 years even though prosecutors were against it AND they were expecting a non-profit halfway house to keep tabs on the guy AND they are going to blame and hold the halfway house responsible.

I think the City of Chicago and/or the State of Ill should foot the bill. Or maybe the Feds, if he was released by them.

I guess they thought he was one of the harmless criminals that they want to start releasing from jail.
