Safeco has named Kirk Chartier senior leader of Distribution and Strategy. The announcement was made here by Paula Reynolds, the company’s president and chief executive officer.
At Safeco, Chartier will oversee the company’s marketing, as well as its distribution and business strategy, with a focus on strengthening the ability for Safeco and its independent agents to grow the number of customers they serve.
Chartier previously served as senior managing partner at Zyman Group, a marketing consultancy, implementing programs for clients such as Dell, EDS, Dow Chemical, Nationwide Insurance and Blockbuster. In that role, Chartier also worked with Safeco’s Open Seas research and development unit providing counsel on a range of marketing matters.
Chartier’s previous experience includes positions with General Electric, software company CommerceQuest, and consulting groups Goodman & Co. and Answerthink.
Chartier also spent 11 years as a staff officer and helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps.
