Are you serious? Even when quoting auto insurance and asking if they know what state minimum liability limits mean I get the dumb stare. You have to educate people about these things. If insurance companies would work on putting things in more common terms, at least some of the people would understand. The problem is they do not want to know. It is an unpleasant thing that they do not want to have to deal with. That is our job don’t you know. And then when things are not as they thought would be, then they have us to blame and they sue. There is no personal accountability anymore.

We lived in Cutler Ridge/Perrine area during Andrew in 1992. We were going to stay until the day before it hit we were told there was flooding of 6 feet or more possible in our area. That wasn’t at all confusing or hard to understand. We evacuated, no flooding, but winds with gust of over 200 mph. Lot’s of damage. Not everyone in the area evacuated, luckily no one was killed.

Just seems pretty simple, you may get flood water over you head, please leave. Then it’s up to the folks.

This sounds like a very good idea but why does it take 2 years to roll out a program like this – it should be available as soon as possible.
